INTERESTING BOWIE-BIT:
Not only did Bowie take MASSIVE vocal inspiration from Anthony Newley (see his entire self titled album for examples), but he also took his “wam bam thank you ma’am” lyric from Newley’s song “Oh What A Son of A Bitch I Am”, which totally predates any Bowie.
I don’t know if anyone knew this already, but I basically had a bit of a laugh when I realized it.
